Bubble Crapless — editable example
Editable Bubble Crapless starting profile. Machine rules and limits vary widely; verify the machine screen before relying on the profile.
Fast math for the machine in front of you
Choose Bubble Craps or Bubble CrapsLess, match the profile to the machine screen, then use the payout, bonus, hedge, and prop tools. Machine settings are the authority; this site does not place or transmit wagers.
What does my bet pay?
Enter a wager and see profit, returned wager, vig, and total returned.
Line & Come Odds
Field Bet
Big 6 / Big 8
Where offered, Big 6 / Big 8 pays even money. A dealer-placed Place 6 or Place 8 generally pays 7:6 instead.
Major Bonus Bets
Study the three major bonus formats together: Number Completion, Unique Points, and Repeat Number bonuses.
Craps Lab terminology: Small Side, Tall Side, All Numbers, Unique Points Bonus, and Repeat Number Bonus. These generic labels are used consistently throughout the site.
Number Completion Bonus
A 7 ends every bonus component that has not already been completed. Completed components are treated as already paid and banked.
Small Side / All Numbers / Tall Side Paytable
Displayed as “to 1” profit odds. Original wager is shown separately in calculator totals.
Unique Points Bonus Calculator
Enter the exact “for 1” returns printed on the table. These custom values are also used by the Unique Points hedge tool.
Different points count only after they are established as the point and then made. Repeating a point already counted does not advance the bonus. The selected payout is shown on a “for 1” basis.
Repeat Number Bonus Calculator
Common current rules require 2 twice, 3 three times, 4 four times, 5 five times, 6 six times, with the mirror schedule for 8–12. All unresolved wagers lose on 7. Published returns are commonly quoted “for 1.”
Proposition Bets & Hops
Practice one-roll proposition, hardway, hop, Horn, C&E, and World payouts without simulating a game.

Major Bonus Hedge Tools
Compare Lay-hedge outcomes for Number Completion, Unique Points, and Repeat Number bonuses on one page.
Small Side / Tall Side / All Numbers Hedge
Optimize a Lay hedge when one Lay-eligible box number remains to complete the selected side, with All Numbers included only when the opposite side has already completed.
1. Define the live bonus
These are the same wagers used on the Major Bonuses tab. Changes made here stay synchronized.
If one side has already completed while All Numbers remains live, Craps Lab automatically calculates that side’s banked profit from the selected casino paytable and wager.
2. Choose the hedge goal
| Hedge choice | Lay | Bonus hits first | 7 first | Worst case | Bonus upside kept |
|---|
Comparison rows are constrained to the casino profile's Lay maximum and wager increment. "Bonus upside kept" compares the hit-first result to the unhedged live bonus from this decision point.
Unique Points & Repeat Number Hedges
Both tools are self-contained. Choose the progress, payout schedule and hedge goal here; recommendations respect the active casino profile’s Lay rules.
Unique Points Bonus Hedge
A clean Lay hedge exists only when the currently established box-number point is a new unique point. If that point is made, the bonus advances; if 7 arrives first, the Lay wins.
Repeat Number Bonus Hedge
This hedge is designed for the clean one-hit-away situation: the selected box number completes the bonus before 7, while a Lay on that same number wins if 7 arrives first.
Match Bubble Craps Lab to the machine
Bubble is a format, not a limit class. Configure the machine you are actually playing; limits, vig, Field payouts, odds and available wagers can vary by casino and machine setup.
Current Bubble Profile
The two Bubble presets are editable starting points, not claims about a universal machine configuration. A Bubble machine can be low-limit, $5,000 maximum, or higher. Always verify the rules screen.
Before You Calculate
Small Side / All Numbers / Tall Side style wagers must be placed before the qualifying sequence begins. Once the hand is active, the bonus wager itself cannot be added to, reduced, or changed. Bubble Craps Lab's hedge tools calculate separate opposing wagers only where the machine offers them.
Phone-Friendly Live Use
Bubble machines often make Bubble Craps Lab practical as an in-session reference, but casino policy controls phone use. Use the existing calculators for fast payout checks once the machine profile matches the screen.
What Bubble Craps Lab should not assume
- Bubble does not automatically mean low-limit.
- Bubble Crapless is a major mode and uses Crapless point rules for 2, 3, 11 and 12.
- Field payouts, odds and commission procedures can differ from a nearby live table.
- Not every machine offers every live-table bet.
- Machine configuration can change, so a saved profile is a convenience—not a substitute for the current rules screen.
How to Use Bubble Craps Lab
A detailed guide to setting up your casino rules, checking payouts, comparing bonus bets, and using the hedge optimizer correctly.
Start here: choose the correct game
Use the switch at the top of the page to choose Crapless Craps, Traditional Craps, Bubble CrapsLess, or Bubble Craps. The rules engine follows Crapless vs Traditional; Bubble mode also exposes the machine-profile tools for live, phone-friendly reference.
Crapless Craps
Use this when 2, 3, 11 and 12 can become point numbers. Craps Lab will include those extra numbers in the appropriate calculators and will use the Crapless extreme-number Place rules stored in your casino profile.
Traditional Craps
Use this when only 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 and 10 are box numbers. Traditional mode is also a common place to study Lay-bet hedging against Small Side, Tall Side, All Numbers, and other bonus outcomes.
Load or edit a casino scenario
Select Load or edit scenarios near the top of the page. The casino profile controls the assumptions used throughout Craps Lab.
Current starting scenarios include Las Vegas, Kansas City, Mississippi, SO MO, Puerto Rico and Cruise. These are intended as editable starting points because individual properties and even individual tables can differ.
Important profile fields
- Table minimum and maximum: used to keep examples within a realistic table range.
- Lay maximum: especially important for hedge calculations.
- Lay wager increment: tells the optimizer whether the actual legal bet must be in $1, $5, $25 or another increment.
- Lay available: some Crapless tables do not permit Lay bets.
- Vig percentage: normally expressed as a percentage of the amount won on Buy/Lay bets.
- Vig timing: select whether commission is collected up front or only when the wager wins.
- Small Side / All Numbers / Tall Side paytable: for example 30/150/30 or 35/175/35.
- Individual bonus maximums: Small Side, All Numbers and Tall Side can have different limits, such as the cruise example of $30 / $6 / $30.
Payouts tab: learn one bet at a time
The Payouts tab is the fastest way to answer the basic question Craps Lab was built around: “If I bet this amount, what does it pay when it wins?”
- Select Place, Buy or Lay.
- Select the number.
- Enter your wager amount.
- Read the profit, vig, original wager returned and total returned.
The calculator may also show a proper-bet suggestion when your amount does not divide cleanly under the selected payout ratio.
Pass / Come odds calculator
Use the second calculator in the Payouts tab to study a flat Pass or Come wager plus an odds bet behind it.
- Select the established point.
- Enter the flat line wager.
- Enter the amount placed in odds.
Craps Lab separates the line win from the odds win, then shows total profit and total returned. This is useful for understanding why the same odds amount produces different payouts on 4/10, 5/9 and 6/8.
Bonus Bets tab
Enter your Small Side, All Numbers, and Tall Side wagers. The currently loaded casino profile supplies the paytable and wager limits.
The results show what each component pays and what the combined outcome looks like if all qualifying components complete.
Remember the Small / Tall / All state rule
A 7 removes every still-uncompleted component. A component that completed earlier is treated as already paid and banked.
This matters later in the hedge optimizer because the tool only assigns value to bonus components that are still alive from the current decision point.
Unique Points Bonus calculator
Select the Unique Points wager, the number of qualifying unique points made, and the paytable shown on the table.
Bubble Craps Lab then shows the profit odds, profit, and total returned. Because Unique Points paytables vary substantially, do not assume one preset matches every property.
Props & Repeat Bonus tab
The proposition calculator covers common center-action wagers such as Any 7, Aces, Twelve, Ace-Deuce, Yo, Any Craps, Hi-Lo, hardways and hops.
For combination bets such as Horn, Horn High, C&E and World, Bubble Craps Lab shows the net result after accounting for the portions of the combination that lose on the same roll.
Repeat Number Bonus
Select a Repeat Number Bonus number and wager. The calculator shows how many hits are required and the payout under the built-in common paytable. If you are one hit away on a box number, the page can also preview a Lay hedge against that final hit.
Hedge Optimizer: what it is doing
The Hedge Optimizer compares two resolving events:
- The missing number arrives first, completing the selected live bonus component or components.
- 7 arrives first, causing the selected live bonus action to fail while the Lay wager wins.
The tool then applies the selected number's Lay payout, vig rule, casino Lay maximum and legal wager increment.
Choose which bonus pieces are still alive
In the hedge section, select only the components that still depend on the missing number.
Examples
- Small only: you need only the 5 to finish Small, while All is already dead or was never bet.
- Tall + All: Small has already completed and the 9 is the final number needed for both Tall and All.
- All only: one side may already have completed while only the All wager remains exposed to the final missing number.
Selecting the wrong live components changes the hedge value dramatically, so this is one of the most important inputs on the page.
Understanding the hedge modes
Best guaranteed outcome
Finds the legal Lay wager that produces the strongest worst-case result between “bonus completes” and “7 first.”
Equalize outcomes
Targets the point where the two outcomes are as close as possible. Bubble Craps Lab shows both the mathematical answer and the closest legal casino wager.
Protect a minimum profit
Use this when you still want substantial bonus upside but want the 7-first result to stay above a chosen dollar amount.
Retain a percentage of upside
Use this when your priority is preserving, for example, 70% or 80% of the unhedged bonus upside while still adding some 7 protection.
Manual Lay
Enter any Lay amount you are considering and Craps Lab will show the two resulting outcomes.
Protection vs. Upside slider
The slider is a quick way to explore the tradeoff rather than immediately committing to the balanced hedge.
Move toward Upside to use a smaller Lay and keep more profit if the bonus completes. Move toward Protection to increase the Lay and improve the result if 7 arrives first.
The comparison table underneath lets you see several reference points side by side: no hedge, light hedge, current recommendation, balanced hedge and casino maximum.
How to read the hedge results
For every candidate hedge, focus on these columns:
- Lay: amount you would risk on the Lay wager.
- Bonus hits first: result if the needed number arrives before 7.
- 7 first: result if 7 arrives before that number.
- Worst case: the smaller of those two outcomes.
- Bonus upside kept: how much of your unhedged bonus opportunity remains after adding the Lay.
If both resolving outcomes are positive, the position has a positive calculated result either way under the entered assumptions. If one side is negative, Craps Lab will show that rather than describing it as a guaranteed profit.
Theoretical hedge vs. legal casino hedge
The math may produce an ideal Lay amount such as $327.43 or $11,020.41. Casinos generally will not book arbitrary penny amounts.
Bubble Craps Lab therefore separates the theoretical optimum from the best legal wager based on the profile's maximum and wager increment.
This is also why accurately entering the casino's Lay maximum is important. A perfect mathematical hedge is not useful if the table will only accept a fraction of it.
Use when you want repetition rather than a single calculation. It brings Place, Buy, Lay, odds, bonus, Repeat Number, proposition, proper-bet and hedge references into one study area.
The tables change with the selected game and relevant casino-profile rules, so make sure your game mode and profile are correct before using them as a study reference.
A good practice routine
- Load the casino scenario closest to where you play.
- Enter the bets you commonly make.
- Memorize the payouts you see most often.
- Test one or two bonus scenarios you have actually experienced.
- Change the vig rule and observe how the Buy/Lay result changes.
- Use the hedge slider to understand how much upside you trade away for protection.
- Repeat until the common payout amounts become familiar without the calculator.
Common input mistakes to avoid
- Using the wrong game mode.
- Assuming every casino uses the same Small Side / All Numbers / Tall Side paytable.
- Forgetting whether vig is collected up front or on a win.
- Entering the table maximum when the casino actually has a lower Lay maximum.
- Marking bonus components as live after they have already completed or died.
- Confusing profit with total returned.
- Ignoring the printed casino paytable when a side bet has a property-specific payout.
What Bubble Craps Lab does not do
Bubble Craps Lab is not a live casino, betting platform or dice simulator. It does not place wagers, track a real bankroll, or replace the rules posted at the casino.
It is a browser-based learning and calculation tool built to help you understand payouts, compare casino rule variations, and study advanced bonus-hedge scenarios.
How to Play Bubble Craps
A machine-first guide to starting a session, reading the screen, understanding Bubble Craps and Bubble CrapsLess, and avoiding common mistakes.
What Bubble Craps Is
Bubble Craps uses a touchscreen betting terminal and physical dice contained inside the machine. There is normally no dealer crew handling your bets. You select wagers on the screen, the machine closes betting, the dice roll, and winning and losing wagers are settled automatically.
Some installations have one player station and one dice bubble; others have several terminals connected to a shared dice unit. The exact controls and limits can vary by manufacturer and casino.
Starting a Session
- Insert cash, a ticket, or other accepted casino credit.
- Confirm your displayed balance and denomination if the terminal offers denomination choices.
- Verify whether the machine is Bubble Craps or Bubble CrapsLess.
- Read the machine minimum, maximum, odds, Field payouts, Buy/Lay rules, and bonus status.
- Place your bets before the countdown reaches zero.
Read the Screen Before Betting
Before the first wager, locate the information the machine gives you. Common items include:
- credit or cash balance;
- total amount currently wagered;
- betting countdown;
- ON/OFF point status;
- current point;
- recent roll history;
- repeat / rebet / clear controls;
- machine rules or paytable screen.
Names and button locations vary, so use the machine display rather than assuming another casino's interface works the same way.
Betting Countdown
Bubble Craps has a betting window. While the timer is open you can normally add, reduce, or remove eligible wagers. When betting closes, the current wagers are locked for that roll.
If you are making several Place, Buy, Lay, prop, or bonus bets, give yourself enough time to verify the amounts before the countdown expires.
Bubble Craps: Come-Out Roll
On a traditional Bubble Craps Pass Line come-out roll:
- 7 or 11: Pass wins.
- 2, 3 or 12: Pass loses.
- 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10: becomes the point.
After a point is established, the Pass wager wins if the point repeats before 7 and loses if 7 appears first.
Bubble CrapsLess: Come-Out Roll
Bubble CrapsLess removes the traditional 2, 3 and 12 Pass-Line losses. In the common format, 7 wins on the come-out, while 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 can become points.
That creates additional point numbers and more Place/Buy opportunities. Extreme-number payouts, odds, and Lay availability can vary materially by machine, so confirm the displayed rules.
Pass Line & Odds
The Pass Line follows the current point cycle. Once a point is established, many machines allow an additional odds wager behind the Pass Line. Odds generally pay true odds, but the amount you can wager may be limited to 2x, 3-4-5x, 5x, 10x, or another machine-specific amount.
Use Bubble Craps Lab's Line & Come Odds calculator to compare the line wager, odds wager, profit, and total returned.
Place, Buy & Lay Bets
Place: you want the selected number to roll before 7. Common traditional payouts are 9:5 on 4/10, 7:5 on 5/9, and 7:6 on 6/8.
Buy: also wins when the selected number rolls before 7, but normally pays true odds and charges a vig. The machine may collect vig up front or only on a win.
Lay: reverses the race—you want 7 before the selected number. Not every Bubble or Bubble CrapsLess machine offers Lay bets.
Field, Hardways, Props & Hops
The Field is a one-roll wager. The special payout on 2 and 12 can vary, so read the machine rather than assuming double or triple.
Hardways and proposition bets are also machine-dependent. Hops may be offered on some machines and absent on others. Use the Props & Hops calculator only after matching the machine profile to the screen.
Working, Off, Repeat & Rebet
- Working / off: if the machine provides controls for a wager, verify its status before the next roll.
- Repeat / rebet: can restore a prior wager pattern, but confirm every amount before accepting it.
- Winning bets staying up: some number bets may remain active after a win while others may be removed or require re-entry.
- Regress / remove: change removable wagers while the betting window is still open.
Number Completion Bonus: Check Status Before You Sit Down
This is an important Bubble-specific issue. A machine may still be in the middle of a Small Side / All Numbers / Tall Side bonus cycle that began with a previous player. If the sequence is already active, the machine may show the bonus as locked and refuse new bonus wagers until that cycle ends.
Simple status check
- Open / Reset: the prior cycle is over and new bonus wagers can be accepted.
- Active / Locked: the qualifying sequence is already underway; you cannot join that existing cycle.
- After reset: the next eligible betting window is your opportunity to enter a new bonus wager.
Once your bonus wager is accepted and the qualifying cycle begins, the original bonus wager itself cannot be increased, reduced, or changed mid-cycle.
Bonus Hedges Are Separate Bets
A locked bonus wager does not prevent you from making other legal wagers while the hand continues. If the machine offers Lay bets and the hedge conditions are valid, Bubble Craps Lab can model a separate Lay hedge against an unresolved bonus outcome.
The hedge never changes the original bonus wager. It is a separate wager subject to the machine's limits, vig, and availability.
Common Bubble Mistakes
- Assuming the machine pays exactly like a live table.
- Ignoring whether Buy/Lay vig is charged up front or only on a win.
- Missing the countdown and unintentionally carrying or losing a wager setup.
- Using repeat/rebet without checking the restored amounts.
- Assuming every Bubble CrapsLess machine offers the same extreme-number payouts.
- Sitting down specifically for the Number Completion Bonus without checking whether the bonus is already locked.
- Treating recent roll history as if it changes the probability of the next independent roll.
Using Bubble Craps Lab While Playing
- Select Bubble Craps or Bubble CrapsLess.
- Open Machine Setup and match the machine's rules, limits, odds, vig, Field payouts, and bonus limits.
- Use Payouts for Place, Buy, Lay, line, odds, Field, and related calculations.
- Use Major Bonuses only when the entered paytable matches the machine.
- Use Bonus Hedges only when the required separate wager is legal and actually offered.
When You Are Done
Cash out using the machine's normal ticket or credit procedure. Before leaving, confirm that the displayed balance matches what you expect and collect the printed ticket if one is issued.
If you find a machine with rules or limits that are not already represented here, use Submit a machine and send clear photos so the profile library can improve over time.
